Within the picturesque landscapes of North Wales, Hendwr Farm spans almost 1000 acres of lush grazing fields, providing a nurturing home for a flock of 3000 sheep and around 120 Angus calves annually.

Managed by Philip and his dedicated team, including Geraint and Jake, our farm is a bustling hub of agricultural activity, especially during peak times like lambing season.
The farm’s story began in 1902 when it was purchased by John's grandfather, Cadwalader Jones Hughes.
Despite early challenges, including a devastating barn fire just two weeks after the purchase, the family’s resilience transformed these trials into triumphs.
Over the years, John, alongside his brother David, has continued to innovate and expand the farm’s legacy, a testament to a family's dedication to the land and its community.
In the late 1950s and early 1960s, recognising the need to diversify and driven by a vision to share this serene environment, John began offering camping spots in the “Gravel Field” near the farmhouse.
This small initiative has since evolved into the thriving Hendwr Caravan Park, a serene retreat cherished by visitors, some of whom have been returning since those early days.
Continuing our tradition of innovation, Hendwr Farm is at the forefront of agricultural technology.
From harnessing solar power to running an award-winning anaerobic digester developed with Ekogea, which operates 50% more efficiently than conventional systems, we’re committed to sustainable farming practices.
Our technology allows us to monitor and adapt grazing patterns via satellite imagery, ensuring our land remains fertile and our animals healthy.
We see ourselves as custodians of this land, entrusted with its care for future generations. Our efforts go beyond merely using the land; we strive to enhance and preserve its quality through careful stewardship and innovative practices.
We're more than just a farm; we are a family legacy deeply embedded in the community and dedicated to the sustainability of our practices and the land we manage.
This is where tradition meets technology in the heart of the North Wales countryside.
Accessed via a picturesque, tree-lined driveway alongside the Afon Llynor, Hendwr offers not just a connection to agriculture but a gateway to the tranquil beauty of North Wales.
